on Thursday night, I went to see the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, and decided to wear my favorite dress, which my mom handed on to me ten years ago: vintage black lace with a low back and a mess of 12 in fringe along the bottom. when I was a kid, my mom would wear this dress when she was going somewhere spectacular, and I always thought she looks so glamorous and beautiful. sometimes she'd wear it when she took me to the opera, and I'd always wonder what she was doing there with me, some sloppy kid. so Thursday night, this dress was totally my date to the theatre.
